In the glass, this wine is bright ruby and salmon. Aromas of sun-warmed berries, bananas, violets, dried rose petals soar above notes of black cherry and bay leaf. The palate is heavily layered, with fine-grained, yet expressive and coating tannins providing the backbone. Notes of sweet oak spices and strawberry-rhubarb pie are supported by hints of rosewater and dried orange peel. Full-bodied and silky, the finish is carried through by the tannins and satisfying acidity.
